Dear White People

David, Adam and Javier are joined by Vic Miller from the Showdown Podcast and the Miller Times Podcast, as they discuss the show that garnered a scintillating 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but didn’t avoid controversy along the way, Dear White People.

Set against the backdrop of a predominantly white Ivy League university where racial tensions bubble just below the surface, Dear White People is an hilarious send-up of “post-racial” America that weaves together the universal story of finding one’s own identity and forging a wholly unique path. The satirical series — which picks up where the acclaimed 2014 film by the same name left off – follows a group of Winchester University’s students of color as they navigate a diverse landscape of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and sometimes misguided activism in the millennial age.

Girlboss

Heather and Adam throw on their East West leather jackets and talk about the new, sort of based on real life comedy from Netflix!

Girlboss was created by Kay Cannon and executive produced by Charlize Theron, Laverne McKinnon, Beth Kono, Christian Ditter and Sophia Amoruso. It “loosely” tells the real life, rags-to-riches story of Sophia Amoruso, CEO of “Nasty Gal Vintage”.  Ironically enough, at the end of 2016, four months before the premiere of Girlboss, Nasty Gal filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
